Join the editors of Rider magazine for Episode 5 of our podcast. Our guest is Paul D’Orléans, a globally recognized expert on the history of motorcycles and motorcycle culture. He curated “Silver Shotgun: Italian Motorcycle Design of the 1960s and 1970s,” an exhibit currently on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum, and Paul’s feature about the exhibit is in the February 2021 issue of Rider. He curated two other motorcycle exhibits for the Petersen, “Custom Revolution” in 2018 and “Electric Revolution” in 2019, and a new exhibit called “ADV:Overland” will open in 2021. Paul is publisher of TheVintagent.com, president of the Motorcycle Arts Foundation, an NBCSN commentator during the annual Mecum Las Vegas motorcycle auctions and host of events like the Quail Motorcycle Gathering and Wheels & Waves. Paul has written, edited or contributed to more than a dozen books, including “Ton Up! A Century of Café Racer Speed and Style,” “The Chopper; the Real Story,” “The Ride” and “The Impossible Collection of Motorcycles,” and he has been a contributor to numerous motorcycle and lifestyle magazines. A renaissance man in every sense of the word, Paul is also an avid motorcycle collector, a past participant in Motorcycle Cannonball, an artist, photographer and filmmaker.
